Adar Punawala, head of Seram Institute, made a big statement about vaccine export abroad.

BanglaHunt Desk: At present, the second wave of corona (covid-19) is in its infancy in India. After various crises in the medical sector, this time the problem of vaccine has become big. But in this situation, the opposition has raised various questions about exporting the vaccine abroad.

Adar Poonawalla, the head of Seram Institute (SII) opened his mouth in this regard. He said, ‘Vaccines have never been exported at the cost of human lives in India. Remember that our country is one of the two most populous countries in the world. Due to the large population, it is not possible to vaccinate all the people in 2-3 months, it will take some time.

He added, “India is important to me in making vaccines in this day of crisis. And if the vaccine is exported abroad, India will benefit in the end. Countries to which India used to export vaccines have now extended a helping hand to India in times of crisis. But the vaccine was never exported at the cost of the lives of Indians.

Incidentally, 198.728 lakh doses of vaccine have been exported to the Serum Institute in need of WHO. However, the Indian government has never said that the vaccine will no longer be exported abroad. If necessary, the vaccine will be exported. Even on May 11, 2021, 63.697 lakh doses of corona vaccine were exported. However, 166 per cent of the total vaccines exported or 108.15 lakh vaccines were sent for assistance.
