Madrasa, Sanskrit toll is being closed

He made the announcement during a “cut motion” in the education department of the Assam Legislative Assembly. Even in response to a question about the provincialization of madrasas, he made it clear that all madrasas would be closed from next November. So there is no question of provincialization. Sanskrit toll will also be closed. From now on, no religious education will continue in Assam in the official sense.

New colleges and schools will be built

Himanta Bishwa Sarma further said that the work of setting up 150 new high schools will start from October 2 at the initiative of the Assam government. Reading will start in all these high schools from April 2021. 15 government colleges and 9 girls' colleges will be built among them. Above all, this decision has been taken keeping in mind the tea garden workers of Assam.

Where will Sanskrit education be given?

Assam Education Minister Hemant Bishwa Sarma wanted to issue the rule on August 15 this year. But due to the current Corona situation, it has been delayed a lot. Therefore, it has been decided that the government madrasa will be closed from next November. Teachers working in madrasas can be recruited in other schools. Sanskrit toll will also be closed. However, even if Sanskrit is taught in schools, Arabic education will be stopped.

Regarding Sanskrit education, Chief Minister Hemant Bishwa Sarma said, ‘Sanskrit is the mother of all languages, it is the language of the gods. It has been decided that a new form will be worked out soon to bring all Sanskrit tolls under Kumar Bhaskar Verma University of Sanskrit and Ancient Studies.
