Inspector General of Police, sculptor Jyoti Mohant, said that the directive issued on Bihu was not meant to mobilize the crowd. Mahant said, I have appealed to the people of Bihu community that if they are too many, then the five should be united and the ceremony should be celebrated for only 5 minutes. He appealed to the people who attended the event to maintain social distance.

Hemant Biswas Sharma, Health Minister of Assam said that the number of people infected with the virus has increased in the state after receiving the coroner case in another one of Assam. He said that one of the new ones, who had received coronary symptoms, came about a member attending a religious ceremony in Delhi.
He said the case has come to the fore in Golpara district of the state. The new case was reported on Monday night. Extensive information is still available.
