Azam Khan was accused of building a park in his father's name with the help of the government

Bangla Hunt Desk: The process of naming places and buildings in Uttar Pradesh continues. And gradually the name of Mumtaz Park built during the rule of Samajwadi Party has been changed. Mumtaz Park was built by Samajwadi Party MP Mohd. Azam Khan in memory of his father Mumtaz Khan. This time the name of the park has been changed to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, the first Education Minister of the country and the first MP of Rampur. The Union Minister will inaugurate the park on Monday.

The luxurious Mumtaz Park was built in Rampur during the rule of the notable Samajwadi Party. A proposal was sent to the government by the district correctional facility for the construction of this park. At that time Azam Khan was the Minister of Urban Development. The park was built in just 10 months. The park was built under the Amrit Yojana at a cost of Rs 60 lakh.

The park was inaugurated by former municipal commissioner Azhar Ahmed Khan. Even after the inauguration of the park in August 2013, the lock was not opened. The park was named after Azam Khan's father Mumtaz Khan. The park was unlocked 11 months ago after many efforts by the district administration.

Akash Saxena, the western UP convener of the BJP's small industrial cell, complained to the DM that the park was built with government funds. The name of the park should be changed for this. Then the administration sat motionless and investigated the matter. Authorities say Akash Saxena's allegations are true. After much deliberation, they found that there was no memory of the country's first education minister, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, in Rampur. That is why this park is named after him.
