Auto-tech aggregator Rapido has announced that it is equipping auto-rickshaws with seatbelts as part of its nation-wide safety campaign. This step is being taken to reduce the risk of accidents on the road like sudden stop or collision situations. In addition, the company passenger safety Has also implemented a four step background verification process for its drivers. Rapido Auto Rickshaw with Seatbelts aims to reduce the risk of deaths during road accidents.
The service is currently launched in Bengaluru, Rapido uses a unique information-masking feature to protect the privacy and identity of the female rider. This app also offers live ride tracking. According to Pawan Guntupalli, co-founder of Rapido Auto, the safety features of the Rapido app make passengers feel safe and secure during their ride.

Compulsory safety training for riders
Rapido Auto has implemented several safety measures in its app to facilitate safe travel for passengers and drivers. These include mandatory safety training for riders, regular vehicle maintenance and real-time tracking. The company claims that it has been made mandatory for all Rapido drivers to complete the learning module system and training exercises, learning customer-behaviour, road safety training.
Nationwide Safety Awareness Program
Rapido has earlier organized safety awareness programs across the country in association with the city’s traffic police department. This includes CPR and Basic Life Support training for drivers, as well as a MIME program. Through this, it shows how important road safety is at heavy traffic junctions in cities like Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru, Vijayawada and Madurai.
