Debangshu Bhattacharya attacks BJP over slogan debate: 'Bengalis will take revenge for what you have done'

The slogan debate at the Victoria Memorial has sparked a counter-attack in Bengali politics. One Trinamool Congress leader after another has started attacking Prime Minister Modi and the BJP over the slogan debate.

Trinamool Congress spokesperson Debangshu Bhattacharya also lashed out at the BJP over the issue. Debangshu Bhattacharya said that when Mamata Banerjee got up to speak on the stage, some hell worms started chanting slogans. Debangshu Bhattacharya said that BJP supporters did not insult the Trinamool leader by insulting the state chief minister but the stage was a government function.

Debangshu Bhattacharya said, “Those who think that I stopped talking about Mamata Banerjee today should think that today was the stage for a government function. The person who came to Kolkata today is not BJP leader Narendra Modi, he is Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Similarly, the one who represented West Bengal was not Trinamool leader Mamata Banerjee, but Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. ”

Debangshu Bhattacharya said, “In this case, stopping Mamata Banerjee's speech with a political slogan is not an insult to Mamata, it is an insult to the people of the state. When the Bangladeshi Nobel attacked the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, I attacked the counter Nobel. Because it was not important to me that Narendra Modi was the BJP leader then, it was important to me that Narendra Modi is our Prime Minister. ” Debangshu Bhattacharya attacked the BJP and said, “Bengalis will take revenge for what you have done today.”
