For the first time in the IPL, two foreign cricketers set this fancy record


Bengali Hunt Desk: Every day in the IPL, one or another new record is being broken and set. The first match of the day on Sunday was Kolkata Knight Riders vs Royal Challengers of Bangalore. Glenn Maxwell and AB de Villiers set the record for batting at number four and five. For the first time in IPL history, the number four batsman has scored 75 or more runs in an innings.

Maxwell made 6 off 49 balls with four fours and three sixes. ABD also hit nine boundaries and three sixes in his stormy innings. The two batsmen put up a 53-run partnership for the fourth wicket. Maxwell was dismissed for 7 off 49 balls by Pat Cummins.

After Maxwell’s dismissal, De Villiers maintained his great form. Mr. 360 degrees 34 balls in a devastating innings of 6 runs remained not out. Bangalore scored 204 runs in the innings courtesy of Maxwell and de Villiers. In reply, Kolkata stopped far from the target, 18 runs.

On Sunday, no Kolkata bowler thought he could stop Maxwell. Shakib, Cummins, famous – Morgan tried with many. But the line-length doesn’t matter the day Maxwell is in form. And with AB de Villiers, there is no question. Both of them became nightmares to KKR. On the day of Kohli’s failure, two of his teammates took over. De Villiers could not be seen to stop even after Maxwell’s return. Both of them took the match out of the hands of KKR.
