Golden age in Bengali football, the new metro station was named after IFA


Bangla Hunt Desk: All kinds of sports have been closed in India for a long time due to lockdown. So far neither cricket nor football has played the ball. In the meantime, there is special good news for Bengal football. The IFA is named after the Salt Lake Stadium station on the East-West Metro. For the first time in India, the name of a sports body was associated with a station. It is a memorable day for Bengal football.

The new station was inaugurated on Thursday afternoon. Several prominent personalities were present at the inauguration. The station was inaugurated by Satyaki Nath, Principal Chief Operations Manager, Metro Rail. Also present on the occasion were former footballers Manush Bhattacharya, Tanumay Basu, Prashant Bandyopadhyay, Ranjan Bhattacharya, Krishnendu Roy. Subrata Dutta, Senior Vice President, All India Football Federation, Ajit Bandyopadhyay, President, Bengal Football Regulatory Authority and Joydeep Mukherjee, Secretary were present.

Adjacent to Yuvbharati, this metro station has multiple memories of Bengal football. The metro station is perfectly decorated with pictures of Chuni Goswami, Pradeep Kumar Bandyopadhyay. Football returned to India after a long absence on the day of the inauguration of this new metro station.
