New members were added to the family of Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani on Thursday. Mukesh welcomes son Akash and daughter-in-law Shloka to be the parents of the child's son. “Nita and Mukesh Ambani are happy to be grandparents,” said a spokesman for the Ambani family.
“By the grace and blessings of Lord Krishna, Shloka and Akash Ambani have become the proud parents of a son in Mumbai today,” an official statement from the Ambani family said.
Akash Ambani is the eldest son of Mukesh and Nita Ambani; Shloka Mehta is the daughter of diamond trader Russell Mehta and Mona. The two went to school together at Dhirubhai Ambani International School and have known each other since childhood.
Mother and son are both well. The arrival of the new member has brought a lot of joy to the entire Mehta and Ambani family, ”the statement said.
The couple got married in March last year. The wedding was attended by politicians, film stars, businessmen and cricketers.
