Bengali Hunt Desk: Encounters between militants and army are going on in two places of Jammu and Kashmir. In one place, a militant was killed by the Indian Army. Elsewhere, the army cordoned off the area, searching for Riaz Naiku, a Hizbul Mujahideen militant. Along with this, the railway tracks and the forest are also being searched by the army.

The security agency had received information that militants were hiding in Shar village in Pulwama district of south Kashmir. The army then surrounded the whole area. An army official said the militants opened fire on the army as the siege tightened. The army also counter-attacked. One militant was killed in retaliation by the army and the operation is still going on.

On the other hand, the second encounter is going on in Begpura of Pulwama district. The army received information that Riaz Naik, a militant of Hizbul Mujahideen, was hiding there. The Indian army then quickly laid siege to the area. For now, the army is firing around Riaz Naiku.

Earlier on Monday, three CRPF jawans were killed in a militant attack in Kupwara district of north Kashmir. Four army personnel were also injured in the attack. The militants came in a car and started firing at the army. The militants fled the area following the CRPF's response. The new militant group The Regents Front claimed responsibility for the attack.
