However, the oil companies did not say how much subsidy would be available after the price hike. Please be informed that even though the price of gas increased by Tk 50 on December 2, the subsidy did not increase. As per the report received till December 14, the customers have received 19 taka 58 paise as subsidy as in the previous month. Doubts have been raised as to whether subsidy money will be available for this new price increase

The government subsidizes up to 12 cylinders of 14.2 kg for each family in a year. If customers want to buy more cylinders than this, they have to buy them at market price. Many people think that the center is on the way to stop this subsidy.

The price of gas cylinder changes every month. Its prices are determined by factors such as changes in international standards and foreign exchange rates.

In the case of cooking gas, petroleum companies provide personal accident insurance to the customer. In case of an accident due to gas leak or explosion from an LPG cylinder, the insurance companies provide financial assistance up to Rs 50 lakh. Currently, Hindustan Petroleum, Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum have insurance through ICICI Lombard for LPG connection.
