India, Kohli and Pujara are at the crease after losing two wickets for just 41 runs at the end of the first session.

Bangla Hunt Desk: India vs Australia Day Night Test has started from today. India captain Virat Kohli has decided to bat first after winning the toss in the first Test in Adelaide. The first XI of today's match was announced yesterday. And the controversy erupted after the announcement of the first XI.

Prithvi Shaw, a batsman in final off-form, got a chance in the first XI. On the other hand, batsmen in great form like KL Rahul and Shubhaman Gill were dropped from the starting XI. And that created controversy. Even a number of former cricketers could not agree with the captain and team management on keeping Prithvi Shaw in the starting XI.

Prithvi Shaw failed to maintain the versatility that captain and team management relied on. Prithvi Shaw returned to the pavilion after being dismissed by Mitchell Starc in the second ball of the first over. A few overs later, another opener Mayank Agarwal returned to the pavilion with a personal 17 off Pat Cummins.

At the moment, India are 41 for two at the end of the first session. At the crease are captain Virat Kohli (5) and Cheteshwar Pujara (17). Right now, India's innings depends on two genes.
