Bangla Hunt Desk: It has been a long time since India and Pakistan played a bilateral series. The last bilateral series between India and Pakistan was exactly nine years ago. Since then there has been no bilateral series between the two countries. Although they faced each other in various ICC events, there was no bilateral series. One of the reasons is the political relations between the two countries. At present, the political relations between the two countries are deteriorating day by day, for which there is no possibility of a bilateral series between the two countries at the moment.

India and Pakistan last met in a bilateral series in the 2012-13 season. For the long nine years since then, no more bilateral series have been held between the two countries. Cricket officials of the two countries have repeatedly discussed the issue but no solution has emerged. The BCCI agreed to play the series on behalf of the Pakistan Cricket Board but did not agree. Because of the infiltration of militants, border issues, terrorism, the relations between the two countries are very bad at present which has affected cricket as well.

Meanwhile, a Pakistani media outlet claimed that there would be a bilateral series between India and Pakistan soon. A few days before the incident, the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan was attacked by Corona, then the Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi sought Imran Khan’s recovery. Since then, many have started thinking that maybe this time the political situation in the two countries will gradually get better and a bilateral series will be played against each other. However, the BCCI did not comment on the matter.
