1. Pass the tenth and twelfth grade.

4. Pass the Preliminary Examination.

These are preliminary examinations which are conducted between June to August. In this, all the questions are objective, that is, there are 4 options for answering each question. It consists of 2 papers which are of 200 marks. So this is an exam for a total of 400 marks.

Negative marking occurs in it. Its question papers are in both Hindi and English languages. Only after clearing this exam, you are considered eligible for the IPS main examination.

5. Clear the Main Examination.

These exams are held during November and December. This exam consists of 9 papers. In which 7 papers are of Merit and 2 are of language. There are 2 types of questions in this as well as Objective and also type of essay. Only after clearing this exam do you become eligible for interview.

6. Clear the personal interview.

This interview has 275 marks. It lasts for about half an hour to 45 minutes. In this, your confidence, ability to present yourself, your thoughts, personality, attitude etc. are tested.

7. Complete IPS training.

    • Chest For IPS, the chest of male candidates should be at least 84 cm and for female candidates the chest should be 79 cm.
    • Eye Sight healthy Eyes Sight should be 6/6 or 6/9 and weak eye sight should be 6/12 or 6/9. Binocular vision is essential. The farthest numbers on the eyes should not be more than -4.00D and the nearest number should not be more than + 4.00D.
