Ishrat Jahan, accused in Delhi riots


Bengali Hunt Desk: Ishrat Jahan, accused in the Delhi Riot, has alleged that he was beaten in jail. Ishrat Jahan has filed an application in the court through his lawyer alleging that he was attacked in jail and his clothes were torn.

In his plea, Isharat Jahan said that he was beaten by other female prisoners. In her plea, Ishrat Jahan said she was suffering from mental depression due to the beating and it was becoming difficult for her to stay in jail. The court sent a report on the matter on Wednesday.

Prison DG Sandeep Goel said there was a quarrel between Ishrat Jahan and other female inmates. And by issuing it, Ishrat has accused of attack. After the incident, Ishrat Jahan and the rest of the female prisoners were shifted to separate barracks to stop the dispute.

Ishrat Jahan's name has come to the fore as a conspirator in the riots in East Delhi (Delhi Riot) in February this year. The Special Cell of Delhi Police, which is investigating the case, arrested Ishrat Jaha and filed a case against him under the UAPA Act. Ishrat Jahan is currently lodged in Delhi's Mandoli Jail.
