Bengali Hunt Desk: Reliance JIO quietly discontinued the popular prepaid plan in the new year with a big shock to the customers. JIO's sudden decision will affect more than 70 million customers. GIO has discontinued their JIO phone plan of Rs 153.
From now on JIO's website and My Geo app, the plan of Rs 153 for Geo phone is no longer available. The JIO phone's 153 taka plan offered 1.5 GB of data per day and was valid for 28 days.
The Rs 153 plan for JIO phones was launched in 2016. This plan of JIO phone would get unlimited calls on all networks. This time, instead of the 153 taka plan, the 155 taka plan is being seen on Geo's website. The benefits of this plan have also been reduced.
The 153 taka plan offered 1.5 GB of data for 28 days. And 1 GB data is available daily in 155 taka plan. Following the new update, Geo Phone customers now have four plans, which are Rs 165, Rs 155, Rs 125 and Rs 75. Several reports have claimed that JIO has also scrapped plans worth Rs 99, Rs 298 and Rs 594.
Let me tell you, last year Geo gave up IUC minutes. IUC was implemented by GEO in December 2019. After the IUC minutes came into force, JIO's customers had to pay a separate fee to make calls to other networks.
