Kerala has contracted the corona infection, with Health Minister KK Shailja playing a major role

BanglaHunt Desk: The first report of corona infection has been found in Kerala. So far, 602 corona patients have been found, of whom only four have died. And 498 people have been reported to have recovered. The number of victims is declining in Kerala. Today, the Kerala model of fighting against corona exists not only in India but all over the world. Kerala has contracted the corona infection, with Health Minister KK Shailja playing a major role.

Apart from the Union Territories and the northeastern states, today Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Goa and Chhattisgarh alone have a population of less than 3.5 crore. At the heart of the Kerala model is Health Minister KK Shailja, who was once a primary school teacher. That is why most people still call him Shailja teacher.

He showed that with determination and devotion, a state in a developing country like India showed complete control over Corona. However, not only America, but all the major developed countries in Europe also failed to do so.

Shailja has been battling corona virus infection for the last 3 years. Earlier, in 2016, the experience of fighting the Nipah virus and the following year came to fight Ebola Covid-19. But what worked the most was his caution and activity.

Although the first case was identified in Kerala on January 30, Shailja was aware of the outbreak in Wuhan, China, on the Internet ten days earlier. He asked his medical colleagues, “Can Kovid-19 also come to Kerala?” Got an answer – of course. What it was then, they took complete information about the ongoing medical preparations in Uhan and started their preparations accordingly.

He held a meeting with senior officials of the health department on January 23. On January 24, a Covid-19 task force was formed at the state headquarters. The next day, a center of the task force was set up in 14 district headquarters of the state.

Within the next 2 days all the major cities and towns were identified with special Covid-19 hospitals and the necessary supplies like masks, gloves, sanitizers and PPE kits were provided with special Covid-19 wards constructed at the major hospitals. Testing kits, ventilators and oxygen cylinders were provided.

Gradually, he announced two hospitals in each district headquarters as Special Covid-19 and got 500 beds for corona patients in ten medical colleges in the state. Not only that, they printed leaflets in Malayalam and distributed them in the village to allay the fears of the people. After announcing a nationwide lockdown on March 25, he fired teachers across the state to monitor neutral people so they could not spread the infection.
