Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh on Tuesday wrote a letter to the Home Ministry. He sought permission from the central government to open liquor shops in the state. Chief Minister Amarinder Singh has sought permission to open conditional liquor shops, citing the poor financial condition of the state.

Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh on Sunday said there would be no concessions in the state till May 3. The government has said that any diagnosis to end the lockdown in the state will be taken only after a report from the expert committee. The committee is expected to submit its report this week.
Chief Minister Amarinder Singh has directed the police bureaucrats to impose strict curfew in all the districts and provide necessary items. The chief minister has asked for the issuance of curfew passes from the month of Ramadan starting next week.
Let me tell you, a new person got coronary infection in Punjab on Tuesday. The number of corona infections in the state has increased to 251. Of these, 49 have returned home and 18 have died.
