According to the sources of the Excise Department, these files are lying in different offices. Agencies have been given permission to engage dozens of personnel in handling years old files. Those who will complete this work quickly and the sales that happen every day will also be updated.
The Chief Secretary and LG’s office seem very happy with this department. Because in this financial year, the revenue department has earned more than 6800 crores from liquor. Which is 300 crores more than last year’s figure.
The number of alcohol drinkers in Delhi is high.
If we talk about drinking alcohol daily in Delhi, the people of Delhi drink about 17 lakh bottles. But talking about the liquor policy, the policy here is still very complicated compared to other parts of the country. The drinking age in Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal is only 21 years. Whereas in states like Sikkim, Himachal Pradesh, youth can buy and drink liquor only in 18 years. But the age of buying and drinking liquor in Delhi is 25 years, due to which youths either drink illegally or go to Noida Gurgaon to drink.
