Mahindra Thar 5-Door: Mahindra Thar with more saps will make a cool entry in 2024, will get this specialty

Mahindra & Mahindra (CY) will launch the Thar 5-door in India in 2024. While the Thar was initially offered with standard 4WD, Mahindra introduced the popular 4WD earlier this year. RWD variant of the off-roader was launched. According to Mahindra’s Executive Director and Chief Executive (Auto and Farm Sector) Rajesh Jejurikar, the Thar 5-door will be introduced in the market in calendar year 24 instead of launching in calendar year 23.

According to the reports, you will be told about the complete details of what features and with whom it will compete in the upcoming Thar. The 5-der Thar gets a lot of new features along with the updated infotainment system.

Mahindra Thar Engine Options

The Thar gets three engine options – 1.5-litre D117 CRDe diesel (117bhp/300Nm), 2.2-litre mHawk 130 CRDe diesel (130bhp/300Nm) and 2.0-litre mStallion 150 TGDi petrol (150bhp/320Nm). The 1.5-litre diesel engine could be mated to a 6-speed MT. The 2.2-litre diesel and 2.0-litre petrol mills get 6-speed MT and 6-speed AT options. The SUV now gets both 4WD and RWD options.

5-door Thar will get these features

There is a possibility that you can get to see the updated touchscreen infotainment system, Sun Glass Holder and center armrest in Thar. Like the three-door version of the Thar, the 5-door Thar can see bigger wheels and tailgate mounted spare wheel and round headlamps. Talking about the design, the signature boxy stance will be continued in the upcoming Thar like other models of Mahindra & Mahindra.

Maruti’s Jimny will have tough competition

Thar 5-door will compete with 5-door Maruti Suzuki Jimny, it is likely that Maruti’s Jimny will enter the market in the first week of June 2023. You can get long wheelbase in 5-door Thar. Which could be around 300mm longer than the 3-door counterpart from Mahindra. In the upcoming Thar, you can get a bigger cabin for more space. Talking about its features, you can get many features in it like the smaller model of Thar.
