The 7-seater Grand Vitara has been given the codename Y17. According to the report, it can be launched by the year 2025. It will be built on the platform of the existing Vitara model. Only the wheelbase will be longer so that a third seating line can be added to the SUV. Apart from this, some minor changes can be made in the design of the SUV.

According to reports, Maruti will manufacture the new Grand Vitara at its new plant in Haryana, which can be started by 2025.
New Grand Vitara will be strong in mileage
The 7-seater model of the Grand Vitara will also come with an engine setup with hybrid technology. It will get the option of two petrol engines of 1.5 liters. One of these will come with full hybrid and the other with mild hybrid system. With this, the mileage of the SUV can go up to 28kmpl.

Maruti is also going to launch a new MPV soon. It will be co-developed with Toyota and will be similar to the Toyota Highcross. The company has recently trademarked the name Engage for it.
