Ministry of Finance releases first installment of Rs 969.61 crore for 28 states

Banglahant Desk: The finance ministry on Saturday approved a capital expenditure package of Tk 979.61 crore for 28 states. In addition, the central government has allocated Tk 4,939.61 crore as the first installment of this financial package. But a state government refuses to take advantage of this package by the central government.

The central government announced the capital expenditure package on October 12. As per that announcement, the first installment of the allotted amount was given on Saturday. According to the finance ministry, the central government is currently providing capital assistance to states facing revenue deficits due to the Corona epidemic.

The finance ministry further said that a capital expenditure package of Tk 989.61 crore has been fixed for 26 states. Of this, Tk 4939.61 crore has been allocated as the first installment. But only one state center has refused to take advantage of this. All the states except Tamil Nadu have availed this facility.
