In this situation, the central government has decided to buy lentils and pulses at a minimum support price (MSP) from farmers in those states under the 'Price Assistance Scheme' (PSS) to ensure that the food crisis does not occur.
It is said that the government will buy 25 per cent of the total crop and pulses from these six states for Tk. As a result, the government will have enough money in the hands of the farmers, it is believed that money will come in the hands of the farmers.
The pulses and legumes will be purchased from farmers in Punjab, Haryana, Bihar, West Bengal, Orissa, Jharkhand, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Assam, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan, according to Union Agriculture Ministry sources.
The central government will buy Rs 4,875 per quintal of grains of national grains and Rs 4,800 per quintal for pulses.
In this context, Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tumor said, “Although there is no formal proposal from the states, this important decision has been taken under the Price Support Scheme. Under normal circumstances, the central government takes this step only when the state governments make a formal proposal. '
