According to the information received, Tander of Hoshiarpur raped a six-year-old girl in a village. He was then killed and his body burnt. The half-burnt body of a six-year-old child was recovered. Police recovered the child's body and sent it for postmortem.
According to information received, Tanda police have arrested two accused Gurpreet Singh and Surjit Singh in a case of raping a child and burning his body. Tander DSP Daljit Singh said the accused have been arrested under the Murder, Rape and Pox Act.
The National Commission for the Protection of Child Rights has written to the SSP of Hoshiarpur seeking a report within three days.
