Notorious SIMI militant arrested by Delhi Police, had been a fugitive for 19 years

Bengali Hunt Desk: The Special Cell of Delhi Police achieved great success on Saturday. Police have arrested notorious militant Abdullah Danish, a member of the fugitive SIMI group for 19 years. The Delhi Police had been pursuing Abdullah for two years to arrest him. A team of Special Cell Inspector Shiv Kumar and Inspector Karmabir of Delhi Police arrested Abdullah on December 5 from Zakir Nagar.

Abdullah is an active and oldest member of the banned militant group SIMI. A search was on in Delhi for treason and illegal activities. In 2020, a Delhi court declared Abdullah a fugitive. Abdullah was the editor-in-chief of SIMI's magazine Islamic Movement for four years.

Abdullah used to make fake videos in the name of CAA and NRC to provoke the Muslim youth and the agitating crowd. Since being declared a fugitive by the court, Abdullah has been in hiding in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat, constantly changing his abode.

Abdul Bashir, accused in the 2006 Gujarat blasts, was instigated by Abdullah. Not only that, after the bomb blast in Gujarat, Abdullah gave shelter to the militants in his own house. Abdullah was close to Simi's notorious militant Subhan Taukir and Safdar Nagori. Delhi Police are searching for another associate of Abdullah.
