Priests set fire to priest in Rajasthan over temple land dispute


Bangla Hunt Desk: A case has come to light of burning a priest alive in a temple in Karauli district of Rajasthan. An attempt was made to burn the priest alive by burning petrol, but the priest died during the treatment. Police have arrested the main accused Kailash Meena.

Police are investigating the incident on the instructions of SP Mridula Kachbar. According to the police, there was a dispute between the two parties over the temple land. Police said priest Babulal Vaishnav said in a statement that his family farmed 15 bighas of temple land.

According to the statement, the accused Kailas, Shankar and Namo Meena took possession of his farmland. The Panchayat had earlier instructed that the land of the temple should not be occupied by anyone other than the priest. Then on Wednesday Kailash Shankar, Namo, Kishan Ramlakshan family took possession of the priest's farmland.

In this whole case, the police have started searching for the accused by forming separate teams and have issued orders to arrest them as soon as possible. On the other hand, the police team arrested the main accused Kailash Mina within 24 hours. The rest of the accused are being searched.
