Bangalore: Kolkata Knight Riders have finally tasted victory, maintaining their spirits even after four consecutive defeats. KKR, captained by Nitish Rana, won the title for the second time this season. Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated. After the explosive innings of Jason Roy and Nitish, KKR won by 21 runs on the basis of the spin of Suyash Sharma and Varun Chakraborty. With this, Bangalore has faced defeat after two consecutive wins.

Prior to this meeting at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, the two teams met at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, where KKR scored more than 200 runs while batting first. Then Kolkata spinners including Suyash Sharma, Varun Chakraborty destroyed Bangalore’s batting. This time too, both these spinners dealt with Bangalore in the same way.

Suyyash trapped in powerplay

Captain Virat Kohli and Faf Duplesey made an explosive start for Bangalore, scoring 30 runs in just 2 overs. Kolkata captain Nitish Rana’s bet worked here. He put young leg-spinner Suyash Sharma on the attack in the third over itself and Suyash took the wicket of Duplesey as soon as he arrived. In his next over, Suyyash (2/30) also piled on Shahbaz Ahmed.

Kohli-Lomrod raised hopes

Glenn Maxwell, who was playing explosive innings, again became the victim of Varun Chakraborty (3/27). Due to this, the speed of Virat Kohli, who was scoring fast runs, also stopped. However, Mahipal Lomrod (34) supported Kohli well and saved the team from wandering by collecting some big shots. There was a partnership of 55 runs between the two. However, both the pavilions returned in consecutive overs.

In this, the wicket of Kohli (54) was the most important, who scored his fifth half-century at the same time. In the 13th over, Kohli hit a tremendous pull shot on the first ball of Andre Russell (2/30), but Venkatesh Iyer took a tremendous catch at the boundary. From here the defeat of Bangalore was confirmed. There were some expectations from Dinesh Karthik (22) but he too could not do anything and Bangalore scored only 179 runs losing 8 wickets.

RCB stunned by Roy’s blast

Kolkata Knight Riders made such a start in this match, for which they were yearning for the last 7 matches. On the basis of the explosive batting of Jason Roy, the team scored 66 runs without losing any wicket in the powerplay. In this, Roy also hit 4 sixes in a single over. Roy completed his second consecutive half-century in 22 balls. Roy and Narayan Jagadishan (27) shared an 83-run partnership for the first wicket. However, Vijaykumar Vaishak brought back Bangalore by dismissing both in the 10th over.

RCB got punished for mistakes

Bangalore’s position would have been better if they had fielded better. Bangalore’s fielders gave life to Nitish Rana twice (5 runs, 19 runs) and the KKR captain took full advantage of it. He scored 48 runs in just 21 balls and shared an excellent partnership of 80 runs with Venkatesh Iyer (31).

Both in the 18th over Vanindu Hasaranga made his victim. However, Rinku Singh (18 not out) and David Visa (12 not out) scored 30 runs in the 19th and 20th overs to take the team to 200 for 5 wickets. Vaishak (2/41) and Hasranga (2/24) were the most successful bowlers for Bangalore, while Mohammad Siraj got one wicket.
