Maruti Suzuki India is not only the largest car company in the country, but it is also one of the top-30 auto companies in the world. The company has released the sales figures for April 2023. These show that the company’s overall wholesale has increased by 7 percent in April.

In April 2023, Maruti Suzuki has dispatched a total of 1,60,529 units to its dealers. This is 7 percent more than its April 2022 dispatch of 1,50,661 vehicles. The domestic sales of the company have also increased during this period.

1.43 lakh cars sold within the country

Maruti Suzuki’s domestic sales in April stood at 1,43,558 units. This is 9 percent more than its April 2022 sale of 1,32,248 cars. However, there has been a decline in Maruti’s exports during this period. It was 18,413 units in April last year, which has fallen by 8 percent to 16,971 units this time.

Another thing revealed by Maruti’s sales data is that the sale of its small cars like Alto and S-Presso has fallen by 18 percent. The company has sold 14,110 units of these in April 2023. Whereas in April last year, 17,137 units were sold.

In contrast, the sales of the company’s compact vehicles such as Swift, Celerio, Ignis, Baleno and Dzire have increased by 27 percent. In April 2022, 59,184 units were sold. This year their number has been 74,935 units. At the same time, the sale of the company’s sedan Ciaz has also almost doubled. It was 579 units in April 2022, which has now become 1,017 units.

Market of big vehicles increased

Generally utility vehicles are included in big cars. The sale of big vehicles like the company’s Brezza, Grand Vitara and Ertiga has increased by 8 percent in April 2023. It has been 36,754 units which was 33,941 units last year.

Maruti Suzuki India has also launched a new car Franks in the month of April. The company says that it will give a tough competition in the micro SUV segment.
