Riya Chakraborty was finally released and released after 28 days

Earlier, Riya's judicial custody was extended to Tuesday, October 20. Then today, at the hearing on Wednesday, Riya Chakraborty got bail on a bond of Rs 1 lakh. However, his brother Shauvik is still in jail.

Rhea, Shauvik, Samuel Miranda and several others were arrested on drug charges. It was first heard that the Narcotics Control Bureau would appeal to the court to keep the four accused in their custody. News that they will be further interrogated. But NCB officials later said Riya did not need to be kept in their custody. The court ordered Riya to be kept in jail till September 21.

The NCB has so far arrested several people in drug cases. Among them are Riya Chakraborty, Shauvik Chakraborty, Samuel Miranda, Deepesh Sawant, Kaizan Ibrahim, Zayed Viltara, Abbas Lakhani, Karan Aurora, Abdul Basit Parihar. Cases have been filed against the nine under sections 20, 26 and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

Zaid's lawyer claimed in court that very little cannabis had been found from his client. He further claimed that Zayed had given a statement to the NCB under pressure.

Rear brother Shauvik said in a statement that he was the one who used to bring drugs for Sushant. Riya used to pay for them.
