Bangla Hunt Desk: The French weekly Charlie Hebdo published a cartoon of the Prophet Mohammed on Tuesday. The newspaper made the announcement just before the trial of the perpetrators of the Shirley Hebdo attack began. Laurent Reese, the magazine's director, reprinted the cartoon in the latest edition, saying, “We will never give up, we will never give up.”
Let it be known that on January 7, 2015, two militant brothers fired randomly at Shirley Hebdo's office to print this cartoon. Twelve people were killed in the attack. Many of those 12 were world famous cartoonists. The January 2015 attack on Shirley Hebdo's office began on Wednesday, December 2nd. And five years later, Shirley Hebdo republished the cartoon.
The attackers also targeted a supermarket. The trial is set to begin on Wednesday in Paris. About a dozen cartoons have been printed on the cover of the recent issue of the magazine. And cartoons of Prophet Mohammad have also been printed on that cover page. This cartoon was made by a cartoonist named Jean Cabut. He died in a militant attack in 2015. The headline on Shirley Hebdo's front page reads, “It's just for him.”
According to the magazine's editorial team, this is the right time to reprint the cartoon. The team said that the case of this attack has now started and it is very important to reprint this cartoon. According to Tim, since January 2015, all of us have been asking again and again, when will we print the second edition of the cartoon of the Prophet Muhammad again?
