Bengali Hunt Desk: India’s veteran boxer and six-time world champion Mary Kom got a bigger responsibility. Mary Kom has been appointed President of the International Boxing Association (AIBA) ‘Champions and Veterans’ Association. Marykom, 36, was sealed by AIBA’s board of directors. The panel was formed last year by the World Health Organization.
In a letter to Mary Kom, President of AIBA, Omar Kramleb said, “I am pleased to announce that the Board of Directors of AIBA has elected you to serve as President of the AIBA’s’ Champions and Veterans” Committee after voting by mail. “

He added, “I believe that with your immense knowledge and experience, you will make a significant contribution to the success of this important committee.”
Notably, the Champions and Veterans Committee was formed in December last year with the aim of changing and improving world boxing. It included respected veteran and champion boxers from around the world who wanted to share their experiences.
