The Supreme Court has ordered a CBI probe into the case of Sushant Singh Rajput. At its hearing on Wednesday, the Supreme Court directed a CBI probe into the case. The Maharashtra Police has also been directed to assist in the investigation.

Earlier, the Center had informed the apex court that the Bihar government's recommendation for a CBI probe into Sushant's case had been accepted. Eventually, the apex court also ruled in favor of the CBI probe.

Earlier, Riya Chakraborty had filed a petition in the apex court alleging that it was completely illegal for the Bihar police to investigate Sushant's case and in this case it would be illegal to hand over the case to the CBI. The Supreme Court on Wednesday directed a CBI probe into Sushant's case.

Sushant's father lodged a complaint against Riya at Patna's Rajiv Nagar police station. Cases were filed under sections 341, 342, 360, 406, 506 and 307 of the Indian Penal Code.

A six-page FIR was lodged against Riya with multiple serious allegations. Sushant's father alleged that Riya wanted to make the actor mentally ill by conspiring. For that reason, he also increased the dose of his medicine.

He further complained that Riya was trying to rise to the top of Bollywood through Sushant. So the director would talk to the producers on the phone when the actor proposed a film. Riya used to say that Sushant would agree to do this film only if she is given the lead role in the film.

On the other hand, Riya was making Sushant a mental patient by increasing the dose of drugs. He also threatened the actor, saying that if he was stopped, his medical report would go viral.

Sushant's father alleged that Riya had embezzled Tk 15 crore from the actor's bank account. Riya and her brother collected lakhs of rupees from Sushant. Sushant even started a company named after Riya and her brother.
