Thailand is the largest producer of natural rubber in the world. According to the Ministry of Commerce here, it has been the world’s top condom exporter in 2022. Its share in the world’s total condom exports is 44 percent, compared to 43.7 percent in 2021 last year.

China, US biggest importer

According to Thailand’s Ministry of Commerce, the country exported condoms worth $272.3 million (about Rs 2225.90 crore) in 2022. The largest export of condoms from Thailand is to China, followed by America and Vietnam.

Let us tell you that apart from tourism, Thailand’s economy includes a large part of the export of condoms and fruits. Thailand’s durian (a kind of jackfruit) also has a lot of dominance in fruits. In 2022, Thailand exported durian worth $ 3.22 billion (about Rs 26,322 crore).

Export of rubber and fruits is abundant

Rubber and fruits are exported from Thailand, yet it accounts for less than 10 percent of Thailand’s total exports. While the total export of the country is more than half of Thailand’s GDP. Despite the decrease in global demand this year, the government of Thailand expects the country’s exports to increase.

Recently, Thailand’s durian exports have started getting challenged from Vietnam. In 2021, Vietnam got permission to sell its durian in China. This has a direct impact on Thailand’s market share. China has been the biggest buyer of Thailand’s durian customers.
