The Aussie coach raised explosive questions about Sourav Ganguly's cricketing prowess

Former Aussie coach John Buchanan has questioned Sourav Ganguly's cricketing credentials. John Buchanan said Sourav Ganguly was not at all qualified for the T20 format. This Aussie coach was the coach of Kolkata Knight Riders for the first two seasons after the start of IPL. At that time, he got involved in a clash with the then KKR captain Sourav Ganguly.

KKR played the IPL for the first season in 2008 under the coaching of John Buchanan, who finished IPL number six that year. The following season, KKR finished the IPL in the very last position by playing in the IPL under the coaching of Fer Buchanan. And so KKR quickly dropped John Buchanan from their coaching.

In an interview with Star Sports, Buchanan said, “I always think the T20 format is a format where the captain has to make a decision very quickly. No captain gets much time to make a decision here. At the same time, the captain's game has to adapt to this format. And so I think Sourav Ganguly's personality does not match in the T20 format. Although Sourav is a good captain, he is not qualified for the T20 format.
