Bengali Hunt Desk: India has asked Pakistan to evacuate Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). The Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said it had told Pakistan that the whole of Jammu and Kashmir, including Gilgit-Baltistan, and Ladakh were part of India. Pakistan should immediately remove its illegal occupation from these areas.
India has raised strong objections to Islamabad following Pakistan's High Court order to hold general elections in Gilgit-Baltistan. The Foreign Ministry has sternly informed Pakistan that the whole of Jammu and Kashmir, including Gilgit-Baltistan, and Ladakh are an integral part of India. And Pakistan should soon lift their illegal occupation from there.
I would like to inform you that the High Court of Pakistan has recently issued an order allowing the Government of Gilgit-Baltistan to amend the order. With this permission, Pakistan will be able to hold general elections in Gilgit-Baltistan.
“India has issued a letter of objection to senior Pakistani diplomats and strongly criticized Pakistan's High Court order on the so-called Gilgit-Baltistan,” the foreign ministry said in a statement.
The statement said, “It clearly states that the whole of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh in the Union Territory, including Gilgit and Baltistan, is a completely legal and unaltered part of India.”
