Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose's 125th birth anniversary will be celebrated on January 23, 2022. Mentioning this, Mamata writes that Subhash Chandra Bose is one of the best children of Bengal. Under his leadership, thousands of Indian soldiers sacrificed their lives for the motherland on behalf of the Azad Hind Bahini. He is an inspiration to Indians of all generations.

He further wrote that Netaji's birthday is celebrated with great reverence all over India. Earlier, we had repeatedly applied to the Center for a national holiday on January 23, Netaji's birthday. But the Center has not yet taken any positive steps in that regard. I am requesting to declare his birthday as a national holiday to pay due respect to the great Indian like Netaji.

He also demanded that the mystery of Netaji's disappearance be made public. The Chief Minister wrote in his letter that Bengalis and Indians have the right to know the secret of Netaji's disappearance. The government of Bengal has already released many files related to his disappearance. Appropriate arrangements should also be made for the files under the responsibility of the central government. Incidentally, in the context of Netaji's death, the claim of the Taihoku plane crash is strong, but most historians and ordinary people do not accept it.
