The state has increased the tariff on petrol and diesel in the lockdown! The price increased by Tk 6 and Tk 5 per liter


Bengali Hunt Desk: Lockdown continues across the country in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic. In this lockdown, Nagaland has imposed Covid-19 cess on petrol and diesel (Petrol and Diesel Price).

Nagaland has increased the cess by Rs 6 per liter on petrol and Rs 5 per liter on diesel. This decision took effect from midnight on 26 April. Earlier, the cess on petrol was increased by Tk 6 per liter and diesel by Tk 5 per liter in Assam.

The Governor issued the order using some of the powers of the Nagaland Taxation Act 1986. According to the order, the Covid-19 cess will be levied separately in addition to the current tax. Additional Chief Secretary informed this information.

Assam has recently increased taxes on petrol and diesel by Tk 6 and Tk 5 respectively. Meghalaya has also set aside 2 per cent tax on petrol and diesel due to revenue shortfall.
