Bengali Hunt Desk: The new MP building is going to be constructed[Parliament house]. And after some time, all the work will be done in the new MP building, Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha will sit. Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid homage to the new MP building yesterday [Narendra Modi]. But the tradition and glory of the old parliament building will be written in gold letters on the pages of history.

Former Secretary General of the Lok Sabha Subhash Kashyap said that it was in this Parliament House that the revolutionary Bhagat Singh revolted against the British Raj. He and Batukeshwar Dutt detonated a bomb in the Parliament House on April 6, 1929, which shook every balcony of the British Empire. It was here that the British handed over the independence of India. It was here that the first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru delivered the famous 'Thrust with Destiny' speech at midnight on 15 August 1947. Prime Minister Narendra Modi bowed to Sastang when he entered here for the first time as the Prime Minister in 2014.

The present parliament building was designed by British architects Edwin Lutyens and Herbert Bacher. The area around the parliament is known as the Lutyens Zone after the first one. The foundation stone of this building was laid on 12 February 1921. The building took six years to build and cost Rs 63 lakh at that time. It was inaugurated by Lord Irwin, Governor General of India.

Built on about six acres of land, the building is 160 meters in diameter. The first floor of the building has a veranda with 144 red sandstones and a height of 26 feet. The pillars here carry the identity of the parliament building. In a few years, there may be no more sessions here, but the Indian Parliament will remain immortal in the pages of history.
