Thousands of crores of bank corruption! ED sends summons to Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut's wife

Bangla Hunt Desk: The ED has summoned the wife of Shiv Sena spokesperson and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut on suspicion of involvement in the Punjab and Maharashtra Sahakari Bank (PMC) corruption case.

According to reports, Barsha Raut, wife of Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut, has been summoned to appear before the ED on December 29. It is heard that in this case, Barsha Raut had a mysterious transaction of Rs 50 lakh with the wife of an accused named Praveen Raut.

Raut, a close associate of Sanjay Raut, was arrested by the ED a few days back. It is heard that some transactions from Praveen Raut's account also took place in Barsha Raut's account. Now the ED wants to gather information on this. ED wants to know, what is the real reason behind these lanes? And this is why Barsha Raut has been summoned.

Notably, in September last year, the Reserve Bank received reports of corruption in the Punjab and Maharashtra Co-operative Bank. The RBI then set a limit on withdrawals from banks. The RBI has learned that PMC Bank is using bogus bank accounts to lend about Rs 7,500 crore to a real estate developer in Mumbai.

To protect the bank from such bogus transactions and loans, the RBI limits the transactions of PMC banks. Initially the rule was to withdraw Rs 50,000 per month, now it has been increased to Rs 1 lakh.
