Bangla Hunt Desk: The United Arab Emirates has taken a big step against Turkey. According to a Greek media report, the UAE is gearing up against Turkey in Greece. The UAE has sent four F-16 fighter jets to conduct military exercises with Greece's Hellenic Air Force. According to reports, the Greek military will conduct joint military exercises in the eastern Mediterranean. The move by the UAE has raised fears of a conflict between the two Muslim countries.
The move comes as Greece's dispute with Turkey escalates. Turkey last month deployed naval and naval ships to dig in Greek waters. Turkey has been claiming disputed maritime territory. Both countries are members of NATO, although relations with the Turkish military have deteriorated in recent times.
According to reports, the head of the Greek Hellenic National Defense Staff met with UAE Lieutenant Hamad Mohammed Thani Al Rumeni on Thursday.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said his country does not want any problems with Greece. Erdogan also said that the issue could be resolved through talks. Erdogan said, “If we act with common sense and logic, the problem will be solved quickly.”
Turkey recently approved the purchase of a second batch of S-400 surface-to-air missile systems from Russia. Turkey has taken this step even after the sanctions imposed by the United States. When Turkey bought the first missile system from Russia, the United States withdrew Turkey from its F-35 Joint Fighter program.
Even in Syria, Turkey attacked US-backed Kurdish forces. Hours before the attack on Turkey, the US evacuated military bases there.
