Bangla Hunt Desk: Umar Khalid, a former student leader of JNU student body arrested in a case related to the February riots in northeast Delhi, complained on Wednesday that he had been suffering from toothache for the past three days, but the Tihar Jail administration was not treating him.

Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Dinesh Kumar directed the jail superintendent to provide proper treatment to Khalid as per the jail rules. The court also directed the jail administration to submit a report within two days.

The court said in its order that the jail superintendent was being directed to provide proper treatment to the accused as per the rules of the jail. If a dentist is not available in the jail for examination, the accused should be taken out of the jail for treatment.
