Fear of rain

What was the weather department's forecast?

The Meteorological Department predicted that the incidence of summer heatwaves in the northwest of the country this year would be higher than the previous year. According to department sources, the average temperature was expected to rise by 0.5 to 1.0 degrees Celsius between April and June.

It was said that in the three months from March to May 2020, the average temperature is likely to rise by 0.5 to 1 degree above the normal temperature in the districts of North Bengal. Apart from this, the heat may also increase in several western districts of South Bengal. It will be hot in Purulia, Bankura, Birbhum and West Burdwan districts. In some places, such as Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Rajasthan and Arunachal Pradesh, the temperature will rise more than 1 degree above normal.
