The BCCI was finally forced to suspend the IPL for the protection of cricketers and all those associated with cricket due to the growing corona infection in the IPL. The BCCI has said that the lives of cricketers and people associated with cricket are more important to us than the IPL. That is why we postponed the IPL.

In this regard, BCCI Secretary Joy Shah said, “Corona infection has not yet been eradicated across the country but the number of infections is increasing day by day. That is why the BCCI and the IPL Governing Council have decided to postpone the IPL like this year. Because there are many local and foreign cricketers from eight franchises associated with this IPL. All those cricketers also have families. So the IPL was closed with their safety in mind. ”
