Zeenat Aman On Mentor Dev Anand: Zeenat Aman is very active on social media these days and is sharing memories of the Golden Era. The actress had a close relationship with the then superstar Dev Anand and both were very attached not only professionally but also personally. but when Dev Anand Wrote his autobiography in the year 2007 and named Zeenat Aman in it. Raj Kapoor Zeenat was deeply hurt by what he wrote while connecting with her. The actress has now posted the third and last post in the series of experiences shared with Dev Sahab.

In this, he has talked about the misunderstanding between Dev Anand and him and how was his bonding with Raj Kapoor. Zeenat shared a black and white photo of her with Dev Anand and wrote in the caption – Whenever I look back at my Bollywood career, I find that it was the golden era of Dilip Kumar, Raj Kapoor and Dev Anand. These stars shaped Bollywood cinema. Dev Sahab had already launched me and now I was busy pursuing my career. In the coming years, I appeared in a few films with him and without him.

Raj Kapoor’s film Bobby, which came in the year 1973, was a super hit and proved to be a blockbuster. I already knew Raj Sahab and had been a part of films like Gopichand Jasoos and Vakil Babu with him. I naturally wanted to work with him and be a part of the RK banner. Everyone knows how I got Raj Sahib’s Satyam Shivam Sundaram. I wanted to give my life for this film but was unaware that Dev sahib was taking it differently.

Zeenat was surprised by Dev Anand’s disclosure

In the year 2007, when Dev Anand told in his autograph, Romancing with Life, that he loved me and did not like my closeness with Raj Saheb, I was mortified after hearing this. I started feeling humiliated and nervous. Dev Anand whom I gave so much respect and considered as my mentor, he not only said such things about me but also published it for the world. For several weeks, I used to get calls in this connection and people used to ask what happened?

never read an angry book

I never read that book by Dev Anand and angrily kept that copy in the store. This was a big miss understanding. I was very embarrassed by this sentence. For many years, I could not even talk about it anywhere. But now I have got the right platform to express myself and also have the time.

Mistakes by human beings is an eternal truth and everyone makes mistakes sometime or the other. I will always remember Dev sahib as a man of rare talent. I am eternally grateful to him and can never bear the insult to his name.
